Mountain Equipment Introduces Winter 2018 Collection

U.S. Debut at Outdoor Retailer + Snow Show in Denver, Colo., Booth #53104-UL

Markham, ON – Mountain Equipment, designer and manufacturer of outdoor apparel and accessories, is introducing its winter 2018 collection at the Outdoor Retailer + Snow Show in Denver, Colo., booth #53104-UL.  The collection includes a variety of hardshells, softshells, insulated outerwear, as well as base andmid layers for serious outdoor enthusiasts. The new collection will be available starting August 2018.

The following products are new for winter 2018:

INSULATION:

Earthrise Jacket: A jacket that is both warm and responsible.  The down filling comes entirely from reclaimed duck and goose down (650 fill power) and the 20D outer shell and liner is made with 100% recycled fabrics. The asymmetrical baffle constriction gives it a unique design feature that sets it apart from other down jackets. Men’s and women’s styles available.  MSRP: $190

Frostline Jacket: A minimalist, low bulk down jacket that provides essential insulation on fast moving days. Filled with 116g of pure down (700 fill power) and the DRILITE Loft 20D shell fabric offers windproof and water resistant protection.  The mountain hood is large enough to accommodate a helmet and it packs into its own hand warmer pocket. Men’s and women’s styles available.  MSRP: $200

Firelight Zip T: A pullover midlayer that should be in any alpinist or ski mountaineer’s arsenal.  It is ultra-lightweight, highly breathable and compressible to fit in any pack or pocket. The outer shell is made with lightweight 10D fabric.  It is insulated with 71g of goose down (800 fill power) and features a kangaroo pocket. Available for men only. MSRP: $260

Transition Jacket: A jacket that strikes the balance between warmth, comfort and mobility for any mountain activity.  The durable shell is made with 30D RS Nylon with a mechanical stretch that moves in all directions. It is insulated with stretchable POLARLOFT synthetic insulation. An athletic fit with elastane bound cuffs makes it perfect for layering without bulk. Men’s and women’s styles available.  MSRP: $225

Rampart Hooded Jacket: A lightweight quilted synthetic jacket for everyday use.  The shell is made with Helium 30D Nylon that is lightweight and windproof.  The 80g of POLARLOFT insulation performs when the temps drop and the “Chevron” quilting design adds to the aesthetic appeal of this jacket. Men’s and women’s styles available.  MSRP: $135

Noroya Overshirt: A low-bulk insulated overshirt made for outdoor living, it is the perfect shirt for all four seasons. It has the styling of a button down shirt, but the performance of an insulated layer with 80g of POLARLOFT. Available for men only. MSRP: $160

HARDSHELLS:

Altai Jacket: Built with a waterproof and breathable 40D GORE-TEX outer shell, this jacket also features 80g of POLARLOFT insulation.  The shoulder overlay offers an additional 60g layer of POLARLOFT, making it a burly jacket that protects come wind, rain or snow. Mountain hood is fully adjustable and the Aquaguard zippers keep the wet out. Two hand pockets, one chest pocket, one sleeve pocket, and one inner pocket. Men’s and women’s styles available. SOFTSHELLS:

Epic Pant: A rugged backcountry ski pant that is designed to perform both on the ascent and decent. The pants are constructed with GORE® WINDSTOPPER® soft shell fabric on the thigh, knee, and seat, and the back of the leg is made with EXOLITE 250 stretch double weave soft shell fabric. The additional lower leg volume accommodates ski boots, and includes a soft shell gaiter and reinforced kick strips for durability.  The Epic Pant has a variety of storage options with two zipped hand pockets, a rear pocket, thigh pocket, and transceiver pocket, as well as two zipped thigh vents.  Men’s and women’s styles available. BASE AND MID LAYERS:

Kinesis Jacket: A super fast-drying action layer that combines warmth and weather protection for the most demanding climbing and mountaineering adventures. The outer fabric is made with lightweight 30D RS Nylon with mechanical stretch that combines moisture transfer with the durability needed for rock climbing in the high mountains.  The specially developed Octoyarn Warp-knit lining offers exceptional insulation and breathability.  The active fit reduces bulk when layering and the jacket offers 2 zippered hand pockets and a chest pocket.  Available for both men and women. MSRP: $180

Kinesis Pant (for men): Just like the Kinesis Jacket, these pants offer warmth and windproof protection.  The 30D stretch nylon outer fabric is fast-drying and durable and the Octoyarn Warp-knit lining creates air pockets within the yarn that boost its warmth factor.  MSRP: $130

Kore Hooded Jacket: A midweight fleece that makes use of low temperature dye processing that significantly reduces its environmental footprint. The Kore has the look of a classic knit sweater but is made with polyester fleece with moisture wicking and warmth performance. Available for both men and women. MSRP: $110 (jacket), $75 (men’s sweater), $95 (men’s zip T)

Chamonix Hooded Jacket: A jacket made with Pontetorto hybrid fabric combining synthetic fleece and recycled natural wool.  The midweight fabric has a heathered look and the jacket features 2 zippered hand pockets and a hood. Available for both men and women. MSRP: $170

GLOVES:

Cirque Glove: With a fully-waterproof DRILITE insert, fibre pile lining and dexterous climbing fit, it is ideal for mountaineering and winter climbing.  The water-resistant goatskin leather palm provides durability. Unisex. MSRP: $85

Mountain Glove & Mitt: Ideally suited for hiking and trekking in cold weather conditions. The POLOARLOFT insulation provides reliable warmth while the waterproof and breathable DRILITE insert keeps the hands dry. The Nylon outer shell is durable and abrasion resistant.  The glove features roll tip fingers for added durability and dexterity.  The wearer will appreciate the single-handed drawcord closure. Available for both men and women.  MSRP: $40 (Glove), $35 (Mitt)

Terra Glove: An ultimate all-around lightweight glove that is constructed with EXOLITE 125 stretch double weave soft shell fabric and stretchy Pittards Oiltac leather palm for exceptional grip. Inside the glove, the back of the hand features high loft fleece for warmth, and the palm features microfleece lining for exceptional grip. Available for both men and women. MSRP: $80

G2 Alpine Glove: A lightweight dextrous soft shell glove for ski touring and mountaineering.  The outer shell is made with GORE WINDSTOPPER soft shell fabric, the palm is made with Goatskin leather for durability. Each finger is pre-curved and the tips are darted for precision fit and dexterity. Available for both men and women. MSRP: $65
