BearVault BV ONE™ Approved for Use in Olympic National Park
July 2, 2026
BOULDER, CO (July 2, 2026) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – BearVault® today announced that the BV ONE™ has received official approval for use in Olympic National Park as an Animal Resistant Food Container (ARFC). The BV ONE adjustable bear canister may now be used in designated wilderness areas where food storage is required.
As of 2026, Olympic National Park has updated its food storage requirements, requiring all food and scented items to be stored in an ARFC in all wilderness areas of the park, making a reliable, adaptable canister essential gear for anyone heading into the backcountry.
We know, from many studies, that ARFCs are one of the proactive approaches that reduces conflicts with wildlife,” wrote Jerald Weaver, Superintendent, Olympic National Park. “We appreciate your contribution and efforts to assist us in protecting National Park Resources. “
The BV ONE is the first adjustable bear canister on the market. Its telescoping design expands for longer trips and compresses as food is consumed, reducing wasted pack space. Combined with its lightweight build and easy-to-open lid, it provides backpackers in Olympic National Park new flexibility, critical for the roughly 50,000 visitors who travel into Olympic’s backcountry each year, where reliable food storage is crucial.
The BV ONE is available now at bearvault.com and through BearVault retail partners.
