SAN DIEGO, CA – December 2, 2019 – Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF), a world leader in supporting people with physical challenges get access to sports and fitness, has announced today a Giving Tuesday campaign where people can “Do 20, Give 20” on December 3rd. In honor of CAF’s fundraising goals for 2020 grant distribution and in celebration of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, CAF is asking the community to participate and share this opportunity on social media. To further the impact, generous CAF supporter, The Knapp Family will match each donation, dollar for dollar up to $10,000.

Fueled by the power of social media, Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving and celebrated on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. “Whether its dedicating 20 push-ups, 20 leg lifts or 20 minutes of cardio, the goal is to share your support for #TeamCAF while giving back to a sport you enjoy.” said Laura Wolf Stein, Senior Marketing Director.

Only on Giving Tuesday, donations to CAF could have four times the impact. Social network powerhouse, Facebook will be matching donations up to $7 million for all U.S non-profits. CAF supporters, The Knapp family, will then generously match all gifts up to $10,000. Each dollar will be doubled, then doubled again.

Here’s how it works:

CAF supports individuals with physical challenges by giving them access to sports and an active lifestyle through adaptive sport grants, camps and clinics, and through creating community and mentorship opportunities. For many individuals with physical challenges an active lifestyle is out of reach due to the financial barriers associated with the costs of adaptive sports equipment, coaching, and training.  In 26 years, CAF has raised $112 million and given out 26,000 individual grants transforming thousands of lives and helping veterans, first responders, cancer survivors, trauma survivors, individuals with spinal cord injury, individuals with limb loss and more.  To learn more, visit challengedathletes.org.
