/OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Fresh legs from the first to the very last kilometer: The new Ultra DNA 2 was specifically designed for demanding ultra-races and developed in close collaboration with the DYNAFIT athlete team. The shoe is designed entirely with the goal of maximizing performance in competition. The centerpiece is the new SPEEDFOAM Rebound midsole, which features a split carbon-tech plate for the first time. The combination of the midsole’s high-tech components delivers powerful propulsion while protecting the legs with maximum cushioning. By specifically reducing fatigue, athletes maintain the energy they need in the crucial moments of the race to go full throttle to the finish. The Ultra DNA 2 delivers all this in an ultra-lightweight package – it’s one of the lightest models in its class – combined with reliable stability and precise grip in all conditions. Quite simply, it’s a shoe made for winning.

Outstanding cushioning and propulsion

The core of the Ultra DNA 2 is the SPEEDFOAM Rebound midsole, made from a combination of supercritical PEBA and TPU, supplemented by the new carbon-tech plate. This design provides maximum cushioning for effective muscle protection and excellent energy return. It fights fatigue even after many hours on the trails, and maintains momentum right through to the last kilometer. The integrated carbon-tech plate turns every step into efficient forward motion and ensures the necessary stability on technically demanding terrain. Additional protection is provided by the Shyld Tech textile insert: The lightweight fabric shields the foot from sharp-edged stones and protects the midsole from premature material wear, for long-lasting performance. Despite all these features, the Ultra DNA 2 is one of the lightest shoes in its class.

Ultra-lightweight high-performance materials

The lightweight, breathable, and extremely abrasion-resistant Matryx® fabric ensures a competition-ready fit for the highest demands. On the heel, the new patented Heel Preloader provides a 360° wrap that significantly optimizes heel fit and stability. This design removes the need for a traditional plastic heel cap, further reducing overall weight and increasing comfort over long distances without compromising secure hold.

PRECISE GRIP in all conditions

From technical downhills to steep climbs: The VIBRAM® Megagrip Litebase outsole with traction lugs is the benchmark in competitions. It guarantees grip on all surfaces – even when wet. The 4-mm-Stollen and a precisely tuned geometry provide extremely reliable traction, while the weight is minimized thanks to Litebase technology.

Tested by athletes over 20,000 kilometers

The Ultra DNA 2 is the result of intense collaboration with 19 world-class athletes from the DYNAFIT team, including Rosanna Buchauer and Hannes Namberger. Over 20,000 test kilometers were covered to optimize every detail for use in ultra-competitions. Even before its official launch, the shoe showcased its potential with numerous podium finishes at international elite races.

The Ultra DNA 2 will be available in stores from spring 2027. An exclusive, limited-edition pre-production will be available in the DYNAFIT online shop from July 2026.
