Eldora Mountain Ski & Snowboard Club Announces Dates For Its Largest Fundraiser of the Season: The Outdoor Gear & Sample Sale

Two local youth nonprofits join forces for the Front Range's most anticipated gear-bargain shopping event of the season.

Boulder, Colo. (August 27, 2026) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Eldora Mountain Ski & Snowboard Club (EMSC) and Singletrack Mountain Bike Adventures (SMBA)—two nonprofit outdoor clubs serving young Front Range athletes—will host a massive outdoor gear and sample sale in Boulder this fall. The annual event is known as the don’t-miss outdoor gear bargain-shopping event of the season. This year’s sale will be held Oct. 9-10 (Friday, 4:30-8:30 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.) at The Avalon in Boulder (6185 Arapahoe Ave).

“Our goal is to make sports accessible to everyone. Every purchase at the event supports youth sports scholarships,” says EMSC executive director Matt Tomasko. “Whether you’re a skier, snowboarder, mountain biker, or hiker, your new gear will help young athletes chase their dreams.”

In-the-know locals line up before the doors open on Friday night to get first dibs on killer deals on skis, boots, helmets, goggles, outerwear, down jackets, sweaters, base layers, socks, hiking shoes, trail-worthy coolers, and much more.

For this year’s event, the lineup of brands selling gear at deep discounts includes: Active Brands: (Kari Traa / Dæhlie / Sweet Protection), Amundsen, Angles Ski & Snowboard, Born Outdoors, ButtnSki, Cuore, D-Curve, Flylow, Fuxi, Green Guru, HEAD – Hard/Soft Goods, Himali, Krimson Klover, La Sportiva, Oberalp Group (Dynafit / Salewa / Pomoca), Ortovox, RovR, Stio, Strafe, Top Dog Sports, and Zeal Optics—with many more to come. Shops like Alpine Base & Edge, Outdoor Divas, Eldora Mountain’s base area ski shop, and Satellite Boardshop will be on hand to liquidate last year’s stock and closeouts. It’s the perfect opportunity to gear up for the season.

The Annual Sample Sale is the single largest fundraiser of the year for EMSC and SMBA, which operates under the banner of Lake Eldora Racing Team (LERT), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports hundreds of youth through programming in alpine racing, snowboarding, freeride, park, and skimo in winter and mountain biking in summer. Last year, with the help of this critical fundraiser, the nonprofit supported roughly $60,000 in scholarships to families in need, ensuring young people who want to participate in these mountain sports have the opportunity. SMBA also provided a program for 4th and 5th graders to teach them how to ride a bike and to mountain bike while also obtaining and building 30 bikes for kids who don’t have bikes.
