Seattle apparel maker poised for global domination of outdoor adventure
SEATTLE – KAVU, maker of true outdoor wear since 1993, has promoted from within to fill a sales void in its home territory while also recruiting top talent to fill the newly created position of bag designer.
Stepping into the Northwest sales role is Kathryn Strasle, an energetic, vibrant butt kicker who has been with KAVU for 3 years, most recently at KAVU’s flagship store in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle.
“I’m grateful for this opportunity to move into the Northwest sales role and invest in the territory where KAVU is so deeply rooted,” said Strasle. “KAVU days ahead!”
Dee Bayley, filling KAVU’s newly created bag designer position, brings a design background forged at brands including Honeywell and Target. She describes working at KAVU as “a very different vibe.”
“From the small, agile team environment to the KAVU approach to making awesome product, there’s a lot to love about KAVU,” said Bayley. “But what stands out for me is the attitude around the office. Everyone is empowered to bring their best each day. It’s magical to be part of the team and to be appreciated for what I can do too!”
Bag design at KAVU had previously been a shared responsibility of the design team, and the addition of Bayley as the dedicated bag designer supports the brand’s continued growth.
Founded in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, KAVU has created clothing and accessories for living life to the fullest since it all started with the Strap Cap in 1993. KAVU derives from the aviation acronym, “Clear Above Visibility Unlimited,” when there isn’t a cloud in the sky and you can see all the way to the horizon. That limitless feeling is the guiding principle in everything KAVU does. It means treating every day like it’s special, getting out there and doing whatever invigorates you. KAVU products are an expression of this approach to life: true outdoor wear designed to spread that good-time attitude. Learn more at www.kavu.com.
