A New All-Women Feature Ski Film Elevating the Stories of Women Across the Ski Industry

Salt Lake City, Utah /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Moonrise Creative is proud to announce Winter Elements, a new all-women feature-length ski documentary premiering Fall 2026. The film explores the interconnected stories of women across the ski industry and the essential roles they play in shaping winter culture, mountain communities, and the future of the outdoors.

In addition to the traditional stories of elite athletes, Winter Elements intentionally expands the lens of ski storytelling to center the women whose work sustains the industry every day – from avalanche forecasters and ski patrollers to cat drivers, guides, creatives, and mountain professionals. Through cinematic storytelling and intimate narrative portraits, the film weaves the stories of these women together, emphasizing the interconnectedness of every role within the ski world.

“Winter Elements is an ode to the women of the ski industry,” said co-directors Sara Beam Robbins and Iz La Motte. “It’s a rallying cry for more stories about women, and a reminder to every woman and girl watching that there is space for her here.”

The project follows the success of Advice For Girls, the first all-women ski film created entirely by women both in front of and behind the camera. After audiences across the country responded with a desire for even broader representation within ski storytelling, the vision for Winter Elements emerged.

“With this film, women are no longer asking for a seat at the table,” Beam Robbins shared. “The women of the ski industry pulled up a chair long ago and have played essential roles for decades.” La Motte emphasized, “We want this film to illuminate those stories and show what’s possible for the next generation.”

The film combines ethereal cinematography, grounded storytelling, and immersive mountain environments to create a documentary that is both visually expansive and deeply personal. At its core, Winter Elements seeks to redefine whose stories are considered worthy of celebration within outdoor culture.
