One of Utah’s public ski areas is for sale

July 14, 2026

A Zillow listing posted Monday announced that Cherry Peak Resort, located just north of Logan, is on the market. The asking price for the 174 acres, including four lifts and dozens of cut runs? $22.5 million.

Logan native John Chadwick established Cherry Peak as Utah’s 14th ski area in 2014. Twelve years later, Chadwick said he’s selling it because he’s ready to retire.

“I need to be done,” Chadwick, 67, said. “This is a hard industry to be in.”

Chadwick said the ski area and summer operations will continue until Cherry Peak is sold. He has not ruled out continuing to own a share of the resort. The Salt Lake Tribune
