Skier gets justice in Aspen Mountain hit-and-run case 2 years later
August 31, 2026
Aspen skier Anne Cassidy suffered extensive knee, shoulder, and hand injuries after being struck by a snowboarder who fled Aspen Mountain in February 2024. More than two years later, Eric “Riku” Banushi was convicted of third-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and violating Colorado’s Ski Safety Act, receiving a 45-day jail sentence.
The case was built through witness accounts, photographs, resort records, surveillance footage, and social media, and Cassidy now advocates for tougher penalties in ski hit-and-run cases. Aspen Times
