Sun Valley Resort Becomes First U.S. Ski Resort To Earn DarkSky Certification

Sun Valley Resort has become the first resort in the United States to earn certification through the DarkSky Approved Lodging Program. The recognition honors the Idaho resort’s efforts to reduce light pollution while protecting the natural nighttime environment and expanding opportunities for stargazing and outdoor recreation after sunset.

The designation from DarkSky International recognizes resorts that meet strict standards for responsible outdoor lighting, environmental stewardship, habitat protection, and public education about the importance of preserving dark skies.
