Wigwam’s SynchroKnit™ “Run For Your Cause” Results in Donations to 17 Outdoor Non-Profits
July 22, 2019
Sheboygan, WI. (July 22, 2019) – Wigwam Mills Inc., the family-owned maker of premium, made-in-the-USA socks since 1905, is pleased to announce its “Run for Your Cause” event at Outdoor Retailer in June 2019 hosted 17 runners from 17 non-profits. Runners were encouraged to sign up to run on a treadmill for 30 minutes. Each runner designated a non-profit to which Wigwam donated 100 pairs of ‘slightly imperfect’ socks. The brand ended up donating 1700 pairs of socks to 17 different non-profit organizations.
“We are launching our new SynchroKnit™ technology in the run category for Spring 2020, so we had a treadmill in our booth for retailers to try the socks,” said Tom Wheeler, President & CEO, Wigwam Mills. “But we also wanted to get runners on the treadmill for a good cause. We have a program that donates our slightly imperfect socks to homeless shelters and other non-profits, so this opportunity was a good way to broaden our pool of recipients.”
All runners were supplied with a pair of SynchroKnit™ socks to test out the contour knitting, which reduces bulk where it is not needed and provides a no-slip fit, and HOKA shoes were supplied to runners who needed them.
The following non-profits will benefit from the event and receive 100 pairs of Wigwam socks to further their missions.
