Project16x Launches A Grant for Women With An Entrepreneurial Spirit and Influential Drive

April 18, 2018

Project16x kicks off this summer’s high country leadership summits with a new name, an even stronger vision, and the launch of the Project16x Grant.

DURANGO, COLORADO, (April 18th, 2018) — In partnership with Deuter, the women’s leadership summit Project16x focuses their 2018 summer leadership summits on themes impactful in our community today — conservation and entrepreneurship — and the launch of the Project16x Grant.

Project16x is a leadership summit collective, gathering 16 forward-thinking, influential women, from the outdoor industry and beyond, to collaborate on entrepreneurship, conservation and social advocacy, while continuing to pave a positive path for our communities by building more women leaders. This is accomplished  through intentional long-term relationship building, directed and inspired conversations, a grant for inspiring women entrepreneurs, artists and activists, and support from innovative sponsors, like our 2018 title sponsor, Deuter.

“When we started Project16x, we wanted to bring women together, from different industries, backgrounds and locations, to give them a space to truly connect, away from trade shows, competitions and massive events,” says Amanda Goad, owner and co-founder of Project16x. “We began with a simple high country hut trip (formerly known as Wild Women’s Project). A place for diverse writers, athletes, leaders, activists and entrepreneurs to meet, be inspired and collaborate. Now we want to do more. As our season’s progress, we continue the journey and project by honoring the original 16 attendees that had the like-minded vision to come to our little experiment, and work to multiply their efforts and determination with every future summit.”

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Deuter this year to our leadership summits,” says Goad. “The team at Deuter truly understands what we’re trying to accomplish with Project16x, values the diverse and talented women we bring together, and brings the authenticity of their brand story and high-quality products to our conversations and connection at the summits. Additionally, our Key Partner sponsors this year include Otterbox and Fjällräven, and we’re thrilled to have their dedicated support and attendance at our summer summits.”

With a bigger vision for 2018, Project16x is launching a grant, created to fuel more leadership opportunities for women. The grant is largely focused on supporting entrepreneurship, the arts and philanthropic projects led by women across the country. This grant is directly funded and determined by the women leaders who attend the Project16x summits each year. Any inspired female artists, entrepreneurs, activists, scientists, writers, photographers, filmmakers, nonprofits, etc. are welcome to apply for the Project16x grant. However, to be seriously considered for the grant, a project must be able to demonstrate feasibility, traction, impact and an opportunity to pave a positive path for our communities and future generations. More information and application details can be found at Project16x.com.
