April 6, 2021

Companies Celebrate Earth Day and Encourage Trail Cleanup Throughout April

Denver, Colo. (April 6, 2021) Altra, the leader in performance footwear innovation, has partnered with Trail Sisters, whose mission is to increase women’s participation and opportunity in the outdoors through inspiration, education and empowerment, for 2,021 Hours for the Planet project. Together, Altra and Trail Sisters are inviting communities to celebrate Earth Day all month long by volunteering time toward trail maintenance and cleanup. Throughout April, the brands hope to meet or exceed 2,021 collective hours of trail improvement. For every trail cleanup picture posted on Instagram with #AltraCleanPlanetPromo (up to 5,000 post shares), Altra will plant a tree through One Tree Planted.

From April 1 through April 30, Altra and Trail Sisters are encouraging individuals and organizations to grab cleanup gear, head to their favorite local trails, pick up trash, enjoy the outdoors and make a positive impact on the lands we all love. Each participant who registers and logs their clean up hours on TrailSisters.net will receive discount codes from Altra and Trail Sisters. Additionally, each volunteer will be automatically entered to win gear from both brands including a pair of Altra’s new Timp 3 trail shoe.

“Our natural trails are so important to us as runners and we are thrilled to partner with Trail Sisters and One Tree Planted to help protect the places we love the most,” said Shanna Burnette, Head of Global Community and Partnerships at Altra. “Our goal for trail cleanup hours is ambitious, but we have full faith in our communities and are excited to do our part to protect and preserve our trails.”

“With the increased trail activity over the past year, we are seeing more and more litter,” said Trail Sisters founder, Gina Lucrezi. “April is the perfect time to remind everyone of their duty to protect and take care of these playgrounds they regularly enjoy. We’re excited to partner with Altra to beautify and preserve the trails that hold a special place in our hearts so they are just as beautiful and treasured a hundred years from now.”
