LEM Helmets Partners with Italian UCI Pro Women’s Cycling Team BePink for 2019 Season

March 21, 2019

MORGAN HILL, Calif. (March 21, 2019): LEM Helmets, manufacturer of safe, stylish, and performance-driven cycling helmets for road, mountain, commute, and kids, today announces its sponsorship of leading UCI pro women’s cycling team BePink. The Italian-based cycling team will exclusively wear LEM’s Gavia and Volata road performance helmets, providing a superior combination of safety, comfort, ventilation, aerodynamics, and lightweight head protection.

The team will be racing in limited edition pink colorways of both road helmets. The Gavia is designed with safety technology and performance built-in, and takes its name from the iconic Italian Passo Gavia in the Alps, one of the most feared and famous uphill climbs in the Giro d’Italia. The Volata takes its name from the Italian phrase “final sprint” throughout Italian cycling, and is designed to enhance the riding experience with its comfortable and light fit, helping to streamline the rider whilst racing.

“We’re excited to partner with BePink and support the talented team throughout its 2019 season at competitions around the world. Being an Italian team, and LEM’s roots and heritage in Italy, the stars have aligned to create a great relationship,” said Keith Cozzens, Global Brand Marketing Director at LEM. “The professionalism and dedication of the organization is unmatched, and we look forward to cultivating a long-lasting, collaborative partnership with a focus on providing safe, high-performance head protection for the team.”

BePink has been competing in UCI events since 2011, and has garnered success in both road and track cycling events. The team’s accomplishments include the Rainbow Jersey worn by American, Amber Neben, at the 2016 World Championships Elite Women’s Time Trial, a bronze medal at the 2014 World Championships Elite Women’s Team Time Trial, a silver medal at the 2016 Olympics Elite Women’s Time Trial by Russian Olga Zabelinskaya, and several medals captured at other prestigious track events.

In 2018, BePink won a gold medal at the European U23 Women’s Road Race with Czech rider, Nikola Noskova, a bronze medal at the World Championships Elite Women’s Road Race with Italian rider, Tatiana Guderzo, a silver and bronze at the Mediterranean Games Women’s ITT and Road Race with riders Lisa Morzenti and Erica Magnaldi, and the Slovakian National Title in the Road Race with rider Tereza Medvedova.

“We are proud of our BePink Italian history and linking with LEM Helmets who also have a great Italian heritage – we are sure the partnership will be great,” said Walter Zini, BePink’s Team Manager. “Our 2019 team features top riders such as Tatiana Guderzo, Rachele Barbieri, Silvia Valsecchi, and the former junior world champions, Silvia Zanardi and Gloria Scarsi. The team will benefit from the close alliance with the cycling helmet company and will be able to work with them on many levels – including product – during the season and coming years.”

Thus far in 2019, the team has had successful campaigns at the Santos Tour Down Under and Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race in Australia, the Strade Bianche in Italy, and their first win of the season at the Grand Prix Féminin de Chambéry. The team will continue to compete in key women’s cycling events in 2019, including: Giro Rosa, Tour of Flanders, la course by Le Tour, and a number of other UCI and women’s world tour races.
