August 5, 2025

Los Angeles (Aug. 5, 2024) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ Thousand, the vintage-inspired helmet brand, today unveiled the Chapter+ Anniversary Edition Helmet to celebrate one decade of keeping cyclists’ safe. According to data acquired through its Accident Replacement Policy, the Los Angeles-based brand has helped to save the lives of 1,265 adult and child riders in its 10 years of operations.

To honor these riders and its mission of safety, Thousand designed an alternate version of its top-selling MIPS helmet, the Chapter, to include elevated materials like hand-laid gold leaf, brass head plates and automotive-quality finishes.

“In 10 years we’ve had incredible moments as a brand, but by far the most meaningful have come through the stories of riders’ who have avoided serious injury by wearing a Thousand helmet,” said Gloria Hwang, Thousand founder and CEO. “Our human-centered approach takes every moment a cyclist interacts with our product into account, from purchase to daily use to, if necessary, Accident Replacement. While we hope that in the next decade we see less cyclists’ injuries, we are committed to continuing to support riders confidently hop back on the bike when accidents do happen.”

The Chapter+ helmet combines style with craftsmanship in premium materials and a functional design. It features a retro-inspired visor, a gold-accented PopLock adorned with the number 15 to represent the founding year, lightweight MIPS protection and an integrated, rechargeable taillight.

The Anniversary helmet (MSRP $175) comes in through colors – Gold Line Black, Midnight Blue and Emerald Green – and is available on explorethousand.com.

About Thousand

Thousand was founded in 2015 after a friend of CEO, and founder Gloria Hwang passed away from a bicycle accident. The mission behind the sustainable, vintage-inspired helmet brand was to make safety seamless. Hwang wanted riders to have a helmet that could provide safety as well as compliment style. Initiated as a Kickstarter campaign, Thousand raised enough for initial helmet molds in one week. The Los Angeles-based brand has since established itself as the top choice for modern urban cyclists and expanded its product offerings to include adult, child and toddler helmet options, innovative lights, locks and multi-functional bags.
