Portland Outerwear Brand Expands Grassroots Ski and Snowboard Film Contest with National Tour

Portland, OR (November 20, 2025) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ — TREW Gear announces Season 4 of TREW To You, awarding five filmmaking teams $1,000 each plus premium outerwear and gear from industry partners to create short films celebrating their mountain communities. The winning team receives a $15,000 filmmaking grant and unprecedented access to industry mentors.

Now in its fourth year, TREW To You has become a launchpad for emerging filmmakers in the skiing and snowboarding community. Season 3 reached 2,500 attendees across seven cities during its North American premiere tour.

“Traditional ski films focus on elite athletes with massive budgets,” said Chris Pew, co-founder and CEO of TREW Gear. “TREW To You flips that model—we’re funding the stories that actually matter to local communities. These filmmakers aren’t just documenting stunts; they’re capturing why skiing and snowboarding connect us.”

Selected teams will receive comprehensive production support, including TREW technical outerwear, partner gear packages, and direct mentorship from established filmmakers and industry professionals throughout the production process. Each film premieres in its hometown before joining a multi-city tour across North America, with the winning team determined by audience vote and a panel of expert judges.

Season 4 represents TREW Gear’s continued investment in grassroots storytelling within action sports. Beyond the $15,000 top prize, the contest provides aspiring filmmakers and established veterans with resources, exposure, and professional development opportunities rarely available outside major production companies.

Applications are now open at trewgear.com/pages/trew-to-you, with a submission deadline of December 3rd, 2025. Teams must submit a project proposal outlining their vision, community focus, and storytelling approach.
