MINNEAPOLIS — March 18, 2026 /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – UDisc, the world’s leading disc golf app with over 2 million players worldwide, has released its 2026 Disc Golf Growth Report. The report cites that disc golf has become one of the most widespread outdoor recreation activities on the planet, with more than 17,000 courses worldwide and 21.2 million rounds played in 2025.
Globally, disc golf can now be played in 99 countries, and course development continues at a rapid pace. In 2025, the sport added an average of three new courses per day worldwide. It’s now estimated that half a billion people live within 6 miles of a disc golf course.
“Disc golf combines low-cost play with outdoor exercise and community connection, and it’s growing rapidly,” said UDisc Co-Founder and CEO Josh Lichti. “Whether you’re a parks department looking for low-cost, high-impact amenities or a resident searching for a fun way to get outside, the data is clear: Disc golf is no longer niche. It’s a recreation movement hiding in plain sight.”
The report’s statistics are compiled from UDisc’s course directory and scoring records, as well as surveys and interviews.
