Your Next Camper Is a Bunker on Wheels With Bulletproof Glass, Flare Guns, Sonic Defense, and a Whole Lot More

May 15, 2026

The Mammoth Overland XLE (Xtinction Level Escape) is an 18-foot, heavy-duty off-road trailer built as a “bunker on wheels,” combining the tall, livable TL platform with hardened survival features from Mammoth’s ELE design. The aluminum-bodied trailer weighs about 4,300 pounds, offers 22 inches of ground clearance and a 6’3″ interior height, and runs on 33″ off-road tires.

Safety and defense systems are the XLE’s headline features: pressurized cabin air with medical-grade HEPA filtration, Level-rated bulletproof windows, 360° night-vision CCTV, remote-activated sonic deterrent, a deployable 37 mm flare launcher, and a multi-nozzle “quad bear deterrent” (bear-spray) system for perimeter defense. Mammoth positions the XLE for those wanting off-grid independence and extreme preparedness, blending expedition capability with luxury overlanding appointments.

Pricing starts at about $123,994 and Mammoth Overland is taking deposits for built-to-order units, with deliveries expected to begin in late 2026; the XLE debuted publicly at Overland Expo West in May 2026. Gear Junkie
