Ethical sourcing and factory transparency take center stage in Montane’s latest annual Social Report, reflecting a year of meaningful progress and principled decisions
LONDON, UK (July 8, 2025) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Montane, the British outdoor clothing and equipment brand, has released its 2025 Social Report, marking a pivotal year in the brand’s ongoing commitment to ethical sourcing, transparency, and workers’ rights.
The FY25 edition outlines the work Montane has undertaken as part of its Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) membership, including improved supplier relationships, deeper risk assessments, and meaningful action across its global supply chain – all part of Montane’s commitment to doing better, not just for the business, but for the people behind Montane’s products.
Key Highlights from the FY25 Social Report:
- Achieved Fair Wear Foundation Leader Status – A major milestone demonstrating Montane’s leadership in ethical manufacturing practices.
- Enhanced Supply Chain Relationships – Strengthened partnerships with key suppliers, promoting long-term collaboration and mutual accountability.
- Responsible Exits – Made principled decisions to withdraw from production locations that no longer align with Montane standards.
- Ongoing Challenges & Commitments – Addressing complex issues such as living wage discussions and sustaining progress through continuous improvement.
“Looking ahead, we remain focused on key priorities: advancing and understanding the implications of living wage conversations supporting freedom of association, and deepening collaboration with our suppliers,” said Gary Bryant, Managing Director at Montane. “We know that meaningful change takes time, but we are committed to continuous improvement and accountability.”
Since joining the Fair Wear Foundation in 2019, Montane has aligned its Social and Ethical policy with the Foundation’s 8 Code of Labor Practices, derived from ILO conventions and the UN’s Declaration on Human Rights. The FY25 Social Report details how these principles are put into practice and where the brand continues to learn and grow.
