OuterSpatial Launches Nationwide Challenge Encouraging National Park Exploration

August 5, 2025

New in-app challenge lets visitors check in at national parks, collect badges, and earn real-world rewards.

San Francisco, CA (August 5, 2025) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – OuterSpatial, a mobile app that helps people discover and engage with the outdoors, today announced the launch of its first-ever nationwide challenge: the National Park Explorer Challenge. The initiative invites app users everywhere to visit any U.S. national park, check in using the app, and earn collectible digital badges – while also unlocking real-world rewards along the way.

Open to everyone, the National Park Explorer Challenge is designed to help more people experience the magic of America’s national parks. From Denali to Dry Tortugas to Acadia, OuterSpatial now gives adventurers of all kinds a way to document their journeys, track their progress, and build a digital scrapbook of their park visits.

“This is the first time all of our users can participate in a single, unified OuterSpatial challenge,” said Nate Irwin, Chief Product Officer at OuterSpatial. “We built the National Park Explorer Challenge to expand our footprint in a fun and meaningful way – giving everyone, no matter where they are or what their level of adventure is, a chance to get outside and be part of something big.”

Participants earn a unique badge for each national park they check in at using the app’s GPS-based validation. With 63 parks represented, the experience offers both seasoned parkgoers and first-time visitors a new way to explore the country, collect memories, and discover new destinations.

To celebrate the launch, OuterSpatial is also offering limited-edition physical rewards – including stickers and outdoor apparel – for users who hit key milestones in the challenge. There’s no cost to join.

In addition, OuterSpatial now includes detailed official data for every U.S. national park – enabling users to find trails, locate points of interest, identify scenic viewpoints, and plan memorable visits. All national park content is available offline, so even in remote areas, the app can serve as a reliable companion for navigation and discovery.

The challenge is now live in the OuterSpatial app on iOS and Android. To get started, simply download the free app and join the challenge.
