SMITH Opens New Portland Headquarters Where Outdoor Heritage Meets Workspace

Move Honors the Brand’s Commitment to Outdoor Culture, Employee Wellness, and Local Community
Portland, OR (February 4, 2026) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – SMITH – an outdoor industry leader that pioneers advanced eyewear and helmets that incorporate dynamic technologies, optimized performance and clean styling – is pleased to announce its relocation to a new Portland, Oregon-based headquarters. The move honors SMITH’s continued connection and commitment to the outdoor culture in Portland where the brand has grown over the past decade since relocating from Sun Valley, Idaho in 2015. The new location is home to SMITH’s Portland-based teams including product development, design, engineering, sales operations, ecommerce, and marketing. The Portland office is supported by employees based in Smith’s longtime goggle manufacturing plant and optical lab in Clearfield, Utah and Denver, Colorado-based distribution center.
The new office is located at the confluence of the Willamette River and Burnside Bridge in the Eastside Exchange building (123 NE 3rd Avenue), and offers employees a dynamic workspace with amenities to promote health & wellness, safety and security, and more collaborative layout & diverse-use spaces for creativity and community connection. Additionally, the gorgeous city & water views plus quick access to Downtown and the Central Eastside continue the brand’s connection to the outdoor community.
A blend of historic character, contemporary design, and modern amenities, Eastside Exchange is a LEED Silver-certified building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The building’s old-growth beams, exposed concrete floors, and other historic features offer character and heritage, representative of the SMITH brand and homage to its roots in mountain culture and the outdoors.
Aligning with SMITH’s commitment to fostering a healthy work environment, encouraging active lifestyles, and creating opportunities for employees to recharge, the new location includes showers and locker rooms, dedicated break and lunchrooms, and an outdoor rooftop space to allow employees to disconnect from work, promoting balance and mindfulness during the workday. The addition of secure bike storage supports alternative transportation choices for commuting or taking lunch time rides.
