Veteran Brand Builder Behind Athleta and PrAna Joins Seattle-Based Outdoor Brand as it Begins Search for Permanent President

SEATTLE, WA (May 6, 2026) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Outdoor Research today announced the appointment of Scott Kerslake as acting President, effective May 11, 2026. Kerslake, a longtime leader in the active and outdoor apparel industry, will lead the company while the Board of Directors conducts a search for the company’s permanent President.

Kerslake brings nearly three decades of brand-building experience to the role. He is best known as the founder of Athleta, which he built from inception into one of the leading brands in women’s active apparel. He later served as CEO of prAna, where he led the brand through a period of significant growth and established its category leadership in sustainability. He has also held leadership roles at Nixon and Mountain Hardwear.

During his tenure as acting President, Kerslake will work alongside the leadership team and Board to advance Outdoor Research’s brand and product strategies, strengthen collaboration across the organization, and support execution of the brand’s long-term strategy.
