BOA Pushes Cycling Performance Forward With All-new FS2 Helmet Fit System And Science-backed Findings

May 27, 2026

Denver, Colo. /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Celebrating 25 years of innovation, BOA® continues to work closely with the world’s top cycling brands to enhance performance through superior fit in footwear and headwear, including the all-new FS2 dial platform for helmets—helping cyclists start better and finish even stronger.

Building upon its foundation of proven performance, BOA advances helmet fit in cycling with FS2, a next-generation dial platform engineered to deliver Dynamic360™, micro-adjustable, multi-directional precision fit. With 40% finer adjustment resolution than traditional helmet fit systems, FS2 enables athletes to fine-tune fit on the fly with submillimeter accuracy.

Developed through extensive testing at BOA’s Human Performance Fit Lab (HPFL), the FS2 BOA® Fit System creates a more uniform connection with fewer pressure points, delivering a refined, personalized fit experience. FS2 Dynamic360™ fit is defined by:

  • Adaptive, low-friction, lace-based system that wraps the head evenly to balance tension and reduce peak pressure, resulting in a 6% stronger hold relative to traditional helmet fit systems.
  • A split yoke and forehead guide design to lock in the occipital bone and stabilize the sides of the head, creating a true custom fit across a wide range of head shapes, while vertical adjustment allows for further fine-tuning.

“Unlike traditional helmet fit systems that concentrate pressure at the front and back of the head, we’ve developed a solution that is proven to distribute tension evenly around the entire head for a more secure, uniform fit,” says Dan Feeney, Vice President, Partner Product Innovation & Development. “We’ve spent the last several years building out a dedicated space within the Human Performance Fit Lab, with specialized equipment that allowed us to refine a helmet fit system that is clearly more adaptable, customizable, and ultimately fits more people, better.”

The new FS2 dial platform also incorporates 36% recycled content, reflecting BOA’s commitment to more responsible design without compromising performance. The FS2 BOA Fit System will debut in May 2026 in the new Specialized S-Works Evade 4 helmets.

“BOA’s journey started in Steamboat, Colorado, in 2001, disrupting snowboard boots by delivering superior fit, performance, and an enhanced experience for riders,” says Shawn Neville, CEO of BOA Technology. Twenty-five years later, BOA has now dialed in almost 300 million athletes and workers in over 80 countries, including 77% of Tour de France cyclists in 2025.”

For BOA, 25 years of innovation have been defined by a commitment to advancing fit and performance for the world’s top athletes. BOA remains committed to pushing the limits of human performance by delivering superior fit solutions that help riders fine-tune their gear and ride with greater confidence.
