Altra Announces New Athletes to Elite Team

March 7, 2023

The brand welcomes trail runners Careth Arnold and JP Giblin to its line-up

DENVER (March 7, 2023) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Altra, a leading innovator in performance running, is excited to welcome its newest trail athletes, Careth Arnold and JP Giblin, to the Altra Elite Athlete Team. Throughout the year, these athletes – among the rest of the team – will wear Altra footwear and apparel for training and competition, represent Altra at events and on social media, and share their story and experiences in the sport with the Altra community.

“With JP and Careth joining the Altra Elite Team, we’re continuing to build up a diverse team in trail and road running who believe in our products and represent Altra’s core values. This dynamic group of athletes represent both performance goals and personal passions who help humanize our brand,” said Shanna Burnette, director of Altra’s global community and partnerships.

Careth Arnold is an athlete, mother and horticulturist. She attributes her race results to strength of motherhood, perseverance, consistency, and a love for the challenge. Arnold recently started long distance trail running in 2021 to maximize her experience of the landscape. She placed second overall in her first 50-mile race – the Dam Yeti 2022 and third in her first Bandera 100k in 2023, and a variety of overall first place finishes and course records in local Florida and Texas races. When Arnold is not running, biking or hiking with her family, she specializes in growth and installation of edible, tropical and indoor plants.

JP Giblin grew up in Denver, Colorado and was introduced to endurance sports through triathlons – competing in distances ranging from Olympic Distance to Ironman. After serving in the U.S. Navy for four years, he moved to Boulder, CO and pursued competing at the highest level in ultra-running. Transitioning from the military to civilian life was a difficult transition for him, and he found peace, stability and community in navigating the change of life through trail running. Through his journey, he has found fulfillment and a sense of belonging through running and racing. Giblin’s recent top results include second place overall finish in Leadville 100, second place overall in Bandera 100k, first place in Leadville Lead Challenge, second place in the Silver Rush 50 and third place in the McDowell Mountain Frenzy 50.

In addition to Arnold and Giblin, Altra’s Elite Athlete Team includes: Alysia Montaño, Alexi Pappas, Amanda Basham, Calum Neff, Frank Lara, Jeff Browning, Justin Grunewald, Kara Goucher, Keely Henninger, Kyle Curtin, Kyle Pietari, Mark Hammond, Nicole Bitter, Ryan Montgomery, Sydney Gidabuday and Zach Bitter.
