Atomic X Protect Our Winters Ski Giveaway

February 12, 2024

Limited Edition Atomic Backland 107 Brings Awareness to Climate Change

/OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Deeply committed to driving the sport of skiing into the future, both through design innovation and increased sustainability efforts, Atomic has been gathering scientific data from lifecycle assessments and addressing the environmental impact of its products. In partnership with Protect Our Winters, a nonprofit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the great outdoors, Atomic has created a limited-edition Atomic Backland 107 to help drive awareness to skiers devoted to protecting the places we live and the experiences we love from climate change.

Created for big mountain skiers dropping big lines in big terrain, the limited-edition Backland 107 collaboration includes giving away a fresh pair of the skis this month. Skiers interested in receiving a chance to win can enter by visiting the Atomic website from February 12th through February 19th, 2024.

A lucky winner will be announced the week of February 26th, 2024.

The limited-edition POW x Atomic Backland 107 delivers multipurpose freeride touring performance in a wide and lightweight package. At 107mm this is the widest freeride touring ski but is weight-optimized for easy climbing thanks to a full-length Carbon Backbone and Ultra Power Woodcore. Powder Rocker and revolutionary HRZN Tech in the tip deliver more surface area for maximum flotation in deep pow. Capable of charging through crud and chop with total confidence, Dura Cap Sidewall allows for smooth and stable handling on harder snow.

Sweepstakes entrants will also receive exclusive access to a screening of the thought-provoking new film produced by Teton Gravity Research and Atomic skier and POW Athlete Alliance member Amie Engerbretson. The Hypocrite challenges the notion that athletes are hypocrites because they burn fossil foils by driving snowmobiles, skiing via helicopters, and chasing fresh snow around the world – all while advocating for the climate. The film highlights the realization that individual actions are not the core issue and that significant systemic shifts are needed to shape a different future.
