Australia’s Toughest 48hr Adventure Race is set for November 2022

December 23, 2021

Alpine Quest adventure race is promising to be the toughest national adventure racing event in the 2022.

/OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – On 11-13 November 2022, teams of four will race for up to 48 hours non-stop across the harshest and the most striking terrain – the Victorian Alps. The unpredictable alpine weather, changing race dynamic and total elevation gain of more than 3000 meters, will push the endurance of the toughest athletes to their limits. They will be racing against the clock, paddling through the rapids of thrilling mountain rivers, trekking and riding through a tough backcountry course, navigating their way with only a map and a compass.

Additionally, the contestants will have an emotional challenge on their hands, having to work together to keep morale high and survive the elements.

The race is organised by the Adventure Junkie team, consisting of experienced adventure racers and event organisers. Serge, Maria and Paul have successfully completed the majority of the world’s adventure racing pinnacle events, including the famous EcoChallenge race and Patagonia Expedition race.

“Alpine Quest is not your ordinary local adventure race where you run in circles around a town, it’s a true linear expedition-style event in  real mountains and inspired by the most gruelling world’s expedition races.” Said event director Sergey Kurov.

Registration for this epic adventure is open and 40 spots are available, with 25 spots secured for the non-stop Expedition course and 15 for the Explore course (more sensible option with overnight stop).

The event is supported by East Gippsland shire and the race HQ is set high on the Dividing Range – Omeo, one of the best kept secret spots in Australia, and affectionately known as the ‘City of the Alps’.
