WEST LEBANON, NH (April 3, 2023) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Blizzard-Tecnica, a global leader in alpine equipment development and manufacturing, is pleased to announce ski industry veteran, Topher Plimpton as the Business Unit Director for North America. In this role, Plimpton will lead the business, strategy, and team for the US and Canadian markets.
“Blizzard-Tecnica has been on an incredible ride over the last decade, experiencing year-over-year market-leading growth,” said Chris Licata, President & CEO, Tecnica Group North America. “The continued success of the brands is not only critical for the Tecnica Group North American subsidiaries, but also the success of the Group globally. Topher’s proven leadership, depth of experience, and passion for skiing make him the ideal person to effectively manage the business and maintain that upward trajectory.”
A lifelong, accomplished skier, Plimpton comes to Blizzard-Tecnica having spent the last 11 years with Scott USA. Since 2016, he served as the Business Unit Director, overseeing all aspects of the Scott winter sports and running categories, Dolomite footwear, apparel and packs, and Poivre Blanc apparel. Prior to 2016, he managed Scott marketing, establishing and implementing marketing strategies that targeted retail, consumers, trade, and athletes. The latter of which was how Plimpton originally landed at Scott, as a sponsored athlete who also understood the retail side of the business through his experience as a salesman and ski tech at the iconic Jackson Hole retailer, Teton Village Sports.
“I’ve been a skier for as long as I can remember and have always held Blizzard-Tecnica in the highest regard,” said Plimpton. “These brands have earned the respect of the ski community for a variety of reasons over the years. I’m excited and honored to join the team and contribute to their legacy in the sport.”
Plimton lives in Wilmot, NH with his wife, Jamie, and their two dogs and two cats. When not skiing or working, he can be found on his bike with Jamie exploring the gravel roads throughout New England.
