October 30, 2023

Funding through the Cotopaxi Foundation supports safe and accessible housing in Latin America

Salt Lake City, UT. (October 30, 2023)/OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Certified B Corporation™ adventure brand, Cotopaxi welcomes their newest impact partner New Story, a nonprofit pioneering solutions for families without adequate housing. Cotopaxi will support the organization with funds through the Cotopaxi Foundation, assisting New Story in their goal to build a housing market that works for vulnerable families, and help impact 1 million people by 2030.

This partnership with New Story expands on Cotopaxi’s mission to combat extreme poverty through access to education, healthcare and livelihoods by addressing the acute role homelessness plays within these spaces. Charlie Clark, Director of Philanthropy at Cotopaxi, explains further the brand’s newest impact partnership. “Homelessness plays a huge role in communities’ ability to thrive, and it’s important to us to continually look for ways to have a lasting, positive impact on empowering the communities we work within. New Story’s commitment to fighting poverty with housing solutions including innovative strategies to create and scale accessible housing markets are both inspiring and exciting. We hope to play an important role in helping them achieve their goal of reaching 1 million people in Latin America by 2030, and the next million beyond that.”

Globally, more than 1.6 billion people lack safe shelter; through their partnership with New Story, Cotopaxi is playing a role in making homes more accessible for families traditionally left out of the housing market. New Story’s human-centered approach gives families a dignified way to secure the housing they want at a price they can afford. The end result is vulnerable families living in safe homes, improving their well-being, and fulfilling their potential.

“I’m excited and thankful to have generous partners like Cotopaxi who believe in doing things differently to unlock more opportunities for families living in poverty,” said Brett Hagler, CEO and co-founder of New Story. “Their support is helping so many more vulnerable families access the basic human right of adequate housing. I can’t wait to see how this partnership helps us build a more inclusive housing market across Latin America.”

The Cotopaxi Foundation serves as the philanthropic impact arm of the brand, providing grants to vetted nonprofits dedicated to improving standards of living for communities experiencing poverty. Cotopaxi distributes 1% of profits through the Cotopaxi Foundation, supporting partners with multi-year grants so they can create measurable and lasting impacts.
