April 24, 2026

Matt Daniels and Craft Athletes Race The Canyons Endurance Runs in Auburn, California
BORÅS, Sweden (April 24, 2026) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Craft Sportswear, the Swedish brand renowned for its commitment to innovation and excellence in endurance sports apparel and footwear, is proud to welcome four outstanding athletes to its Elite Run Team. These new runners join a veteran roster of 20 global top performers, reinforcing Craft’s commitment to supporting athletes across all levels and disciplines—while also playing a key role in testing and refining new products as part of the brand’s ongoing research and development efforts.
Meet the new athletes joining the 2026 Craft Elite Run Team:
Matt Daniels (United States)
Matt is a Colorado-based trail runner and coach passionate about both technical mountain races and ultradistance events. He helps athletes achieve breakthroughs on and off the trails while sharing his love for storytelling and community through projects like the Boulder Boys Podcast. Outside of running, he is a devoted husband to fellow Craft athlete Mary and a soon-to-be father. He will run the Canyons Endurance Run 50k, which starts and finishes in Auburn, California on April 25, 2026.
Geneviève Asselin-Demers (Canada)
Geneviève is an engineer who expertly balances spreadsheets and elite trail races while raising twin daughters. She promotes healthy, active lifestyles and inspires women and young families to pursue their goals with balance, resilience, and well-being.
Wang Liping (China)
Wang is an elite trail runner from China and the 2025 Malaysia UTMB 50K champion, her first overseas victory. She continues to train with local running groups in her hometown, staying connected to her community and supporting the growth of the sport.
Yin Wenjing (China)
Yin is an elite trail runner from Nanjing who earned 3rd place at the 2025 Jiangshan 100, one of China’s most challenging races. She trains daily with Nanjing’s largest running club and consistently achieves podium finishes in national competitions.
“When we started this team six years ago, we could only dream of the lineup we have today. Supporting world-class runners as they compete in some of the most prestigious ultras around the world is something we’re incredibly proud of, and a testament to how far we’ve come as a brand,” says Niklas Moberg, Head of Brand at Craft Sportswear.
These newcomers join Craft’s seasoned elite team, including Tim Tollefson, founder and director of Mammoth Trailfest, of which Craft is the title sponsor; Mary Daniels, an ultramarathoner with standout performances at Leadville 100, JFK 50, and Kodiak 100k; Aroa Sío Recknold, who placed 2nd at the 2026 UTMB Arc of Attrition 100k; David Laney, a long-time elite runner and Craft’s in-house footwear expert; and Tommy Rivers Puzey, known as “Rivs,” a running icon known for his heroic running career and influence amongst the fitness community. Together, the Craft team combines experience, innovation, and a shared passion for pushing the limits of performance on road, trail, and mountain courses.
“The team has been putting in consistent, focused work over the past weeks, and it’s been great to see that translate into strong preparation. A few of them will be lining up at the Canyons Endurance races this week, which feels like a natural next step and a good opportunity to test where they’re at,” says Abel Recknold, Global Pro Team Manager at Craft Sportswear.
