deuter issues recall for Kid Comfort products due to material defect

BOULDER, Colo. (March 5, 2025) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – deuter is voluntarily recalling approximately 4,900 Kid Comfort child carrier backpacks. The company has identified an issue with the carrier’s hinge system, which may fail on first use.

deuter is committed to the highest safety and quality standards. After receiving a limited number of customer reports regarding hinge failures, the company conducted an internal investigation and determined that some units may contain defective components. While no injuries have been reported, deuter is initiating this voluntary recall out of an abundance of caution.

The recall applies to Kid Comfort backpacks sold between March 2023 and February 2025 at authorized retailers and online. The products affected by this issue are limited to the models and production/date codes that end with the following four digits:
