Fischer Skis Cleans Up, Takes Home Awards in four out of six categories in Cross Country Skier 2021 Gear Guide

October 26, 2020

AUBURN, N.h. – Cross Country Skier magazine’s 2021 Gear Guide — the most comprehensive nordic review in the industry — has just been released and Fischer was well praised in its pages. Winning an editor’s choice award in four out of six hardgoods categories, it’s clear that Fischer’s product is performing better than ever and the Austrian brand’s relentless dedication toward improvement has paid off.

Fischer took home Editor’s Choice awards in the Skate Gear category for both the Speedmax 3D ski and the newly updated Carbonlite Skate boot. “You get on [the Speedmax 3D] and immediately have the urge to go fast,” testers said of the ski. Adding, “Can’t go wrong with this ski.” And, “Very predictable and confidence-inspiring.” Written of the Carbonlite Skate Boot: “A comfortable fit often comes with the tradeoff of extra cushioning, insulation and lackluster power, but testers universally agreed that this boot surprisingly checked both performance and comfort boxes.”

The Twin Skin Speedmax also claimed an Editor’s Choice Award in the classic category. “The Twin Skin Speedmax seemed to quickly put balance worries to bed,” the review praised. Continuing, “‘The ski felt the same every time I put my foot down, no matter if I planted my foot down slightly off balance or right on,’ a tester said.”

Among the top touring skis in this year’s review is the Fischer Adventure 62, which the magazine praises as “a blast” to ski. The review continues to highlight the versatility of the ski, recommending it as an all-terrain option for beginners and advanced skiers alike.
