Freeride Legend Brett Tippie “Settles Down” and signs with Aventon as Global Ambassador
February 17, 2026

Brea, CA (February 17, 2026) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Aventon, a rapidly expanding leader in the e-mobility market, today announced a partnership that defies conventional industry wisdom. Brett Tippie, the “Director of Good Times,” Mountain Bike Hall of Fame member, and pioneer of extreme freeride mountain biking, has signed on as the official face of Aventon.
In a twist that is sure to spark intense speculation among his global fanbase, the man known for vertical descents and big drops is not (yet) introducing a new E-MTB. Instead, Tippie has been appointed as Aventon’s first-ever Global Cargo Bike Ambassador.
This strategic partnership marks a significant milestone in Aventon’s global expansion, particularly ahead of the German market launch in Spring 2026. While rumors suggested the heritage freerider would sign with a traditional mountain bike brand, Tippie has instead chosen a brand best known for commuting and fat tire bikes—though his choice of “test track” for the company’s cargo e-bikes indicates he might know something the public doesn’t yet.
Two Pioneers, One (Suspiciously Powerful) Vision
Brett Tippie is an icon with over 40 years in the sport and appearances in more than 30 films. His motto, “Live life like you want to remember it,” aligns with Aventon’s DNA of accessible adventure —though Tippie seems intent on stretching the definition of “accessible.”
Recent sightings of the new ambassador show him utilizing Aventon’s cargo e-bikes not for school runs, subtly proving that the technology beneath the grocery-getter exterior is ready for much more aggressive terrain.
“Brett Tippie is far more than an athlete—he is the ambassador of our entire industry,” explains Malte Homeyer, Global Brand Director at Aventon. “His mindset of pushing boundaries while keeping a contagious smile on his face matches our own ambitions perfectly. We are extremely excited to have him on board to pave the way for future expansion of Aventon’s product portfolio that will inspire more people to head out on their
personal adventures. There is no one else we would have loved to partner with more when
it comes to sharing the stoke of riding bikes.”
For Tippie, the move is a tongue-in-cheek acceptance of a new era, with a heavy wink toward the future.
“After decades in this sport, I’m genuinely stoked to try something completely new,” says Brett Tippie. “I’m super impressed by the combination of technology and accessibility Aventon brings to the table. It’s rare to see a brand make that kind of performance available to everyone. They are clearly building bikes for all kinds of adventure. But I’ll be honest—while I’m having a blast pushing the Cargo limits, I am definitely looking forward to the product that is the right one for my backyard… where the terrain gets a little too steep for a grocery run. I am pumped on this partnership after having ridden and tested a shiny new Aventon in wet and wild Wales this winter. It rips! The handling, finish, look and performance of the bike was first class and I’m eager to… go get groceries (on a variety of ways to get there) to feed my hunger for fun and adventure!”
Outlook for 2026
The official sales launch in Germany takes place in Spring 2026. While Tippie is currently “constrained” to Cargo cycling, Aventon’s roadmap suggests the brand won’t stay on the pavement for long. Curious fans and skeptics alike should keep an eye on Aventon’s communication channels to get exclusive insights and early glimpses of upcoming model highlights that might just fit Tippie’s riding style a little better than a cargo bike.
