GOES Health and DripDrop Partner with OutGrown

July 18, 2023

Encouraging confident and safe hiking for families during summer heat

San Francisco, Calif., July 18, 2023 /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – In a strategic partnership, developed out of a need for improved outdoor safety education and resources, OutGrown, DripDrop Hydration and GOES Health have announced the launch of family-friendly guided hike events across selected cities to encourage families to venture outdoors safely during the summer heat. The goal of this partnership is to educate participants on heat illness prevention and the importance of staying hydrated while hiking in the heat.

Nonprofit, OutGrown, empowers families with young children to step outside and enjoy the physical and mental benefits of growing up in nature; their partnership with outdoor health platform GOES, and leading hydration brand DripDrop, will help to educate families on safety tips while heading outdoors in the heat along with giving them tools to stay hydrated and recognize signs of heat illness and dehydration.

OutGrown members will host family hiking events in 15 key locations, supplying participants with DripDrop electrolyte mix packets and discounted access to the GOES Health app which provides medically validated tips to help families enjoy the outdoors safely.

“In the face of rising temperatures and escalating environmental health risks, GOES equips families with the confidence and medical knowledge they need to enjoy the outdoors safely,” said Camilo Barcenas, CEO and Co-Founder of GOES Health. “We’re excited to partner with DripDrop and Outgrown to amplify our impact and empower communities across the US to navigate rising temperatures and heat related illnesses.”

“We all know outdoor recreation is important for our mental and physical health, but the hot summer temperatures can make it challenging to do so,” said Jennifer Walloch, Vice President of Brand Marketing at DripDrop. “DripDrop provides the most effective rehydration formula necessary to keep all outdoor enthusiasts out enjoying the things they love, which is why we’re excited to be partnering with GOES and OutGrown as the go-to hydration choice for families this summer, and beyond.”

GOES and DripDrop are both dedicated to educating individuals and relieving environmental ailments such as dehydration. During hot and humid weather, people are at higher risks of dehydration and heat-related illnesses which can be helped with the right tools. This partnership will help to empower parents to be prepared when getting outside, know the signs of dehydration, and have the skillset and tools to act fast and keep their families going outside.

“Families with young children experience all kinds of challenges in getting outside from figuring out what to pack, where to go, and how to keep everyone happy and healthy along the way. Summer heat can really complicate that, especially for infants, toddlers, and nursing parents. OutGrown’s free, community led events help families build confidence and feel supported.” Said Jessica Carrillo Alatorre, Executive Director and mom of two, OutGrown. “By partnering with GOES and DripDrop, we’re able to offer expertise and access to practical solutions to help parents take their outside game to the next level. When we all come together to support one another, we’re able to help our next generation build the love and connection they need to care for themselves and the planet.”

The first eighteen locations include: Dallas, TX, Columbia, SC, Simpsonville, SC, Charlottesville, VA, Chesapeake, VA, Huntsville, AL, Virginia Beach, VA, Montclair, VA, Augusta, GA, Atlanta, GA, Georgetown, IN, Manteo, NC, Winston-Salem, NC, Lexington, KY, Moyock, NC, Coos Bay, OR, Brookings, OR, and Beaverton, OR. About OutGrown

OutGrown is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that empowers families with young children to step outside and enjoy the physical and mental benefits of growing up in nature.

We believe that inviting families to play outside together in nearby- nature, acknowledging their individual relationships with the natural world, providing responsive and relevant resources, and a supportive environment to nurture their own sense of belonging in outdoor spaces, is a wonderful way to build community and foster a life-long love of nature.

Each of OutGrown’s core programs work to actively realize our mission, connecting outreach, education, and community-building under the canopy that is OutGrown.

Not just for hiking, or babies, our Hike it Baby Community Events are the roots of OutGrown. We use the term ‘hike’ broadly and offer a wide variety of events from playground meetups to trail hikes to urban strolls. Our volunteer Outside Guides are trained to support all families in a welcoming, inclusive experience on the trail with us while building community.

The Bring it Outside program meets families where they are and supports them in getting outside in the ways that work best for their families. BiO develops multi-lingual tools, resources, and activities, and hosts workshops and events for families year-round.

Turn the Blues Green is our pioneering maternal mental health program. It is our tool, our solution, to help new parents combat the Baby Blues, to reduce that feeling of isolation many new moms face, and to nurture relationships to the natural world from the very beginning.
