GRAYL Receives 2021 Outstanding Partnership Award from The Conservation Alliance, Nominated by Washington Wild

January 21, 2022

The yearly awards recognize brands whose efforts directly support organizations working to protect wild places throughout North America.

Seattle, WA (January 21, 2022) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ Earlier this month, Seattle-based GRAYL®, maker of innovative water filters and purifiers, purpose-built for limitless adventure, received a 2021 Outstanding Partnership Award in recognition of their partnership with Washington Wild, a Conservation Alliance grantee. Since 2018, the partnership between Grayl and Washington Wild has grown around a shared mission to protect Washington’s wild lands, especially regional watersheds.

Washington Wild is a statewide non-profit conservation organization that seeks to protect wild lands and waters in Washington State. Working collaboratively with tribes, landowners and the local governments, the organization has helped coordinate winning coalitions to protect critical salmon habitat from the practice of motorized suction dredge mining, permanently protecting the Skagit Headwaters from logging and mining threats, and pursue permanent protections for ancient forest and rivers on the Olympic Peninsula. To date, the organization has had an invaluable role in protecting more than three million acres of wilderness through Washington State.

“We were excited to nominate Grayl as one of our community voices and corporate partners, and happy to learn of the well-deserved award from Conservation Alliance,” said Tom Uniack, Executive Director of Washington Wild. “We look forward to working with Grayl in the years to come to support our shared passion and interest in advocating for access to and the protection of clean water, healthy forests, and wild watersheds.”

Grayl is proud to contribute to these vital efforts and believes businesses can and must use their resources to strengthen groups working to protect public lands and our shared planet. As a business member of 1% for the Planet, Grayl has committed to giving one percent of all sales to non-profit organizations tackling the most pressing environmental issues facing communities and wild places.

“We are honored to receive this award but the real heroes are Washington Wild and its many partners who tirelessly work to protect, defend, and restore the amazing public lands across Washington State,” said Travis Merrigan, Grayl co-founder. “We believe that together businesses, organizations, and individuals can effect positive change to conserve and protect our wild places. Washington Wild’s efforts serve as inspiration for us, and a reminder of the power of collaboration.”

Grayl’s support for Washington Wild is part of the company’s Giving Back program, an initiative to support non-profit organizations whose missions conserve wildlands and waterways, protect access to clean water, and seek to strengthen communities’ access to nature. The program echoes Grayl’s values and anchors the brand to a multitude of causes that effect change and positive impact. This includes support to The Conversation Alliance, where Grayl’s donation helps fund grassroots, community-based projects that protect threatened wild habitats and preserve public lands for outdoor recreation.
