GUNNER® Releases First-Ever Waterfowl Dog Hunting Vest Expanding Its Line of Overbuilt Products for Time in the Field

November 20, 2025

GUNNER enters a new category with the rigorously tested Waterfowl Vest: designed for durability, temperature regulation, and ease-of-use.

Nashville, Tenn. — Nov. 20, 2025 GUNNER®, a leading brand known for overbuilt dog gear and the 5-star crash-tested G1™ Kennel, announces the launch of their first-ever hunting vest for dogs: The Waterfowl Vest. Built with the same problem-solving mindset behind every GUNNER product, the Waterfowl Vest is designed to help your dog through every state of the hunt, from the first retrieve to the last rest. Built with a proprietary 5-Layer Performance System™ that allows dogs to conserve more energy, rebound quicker, and stay steady through every stage of the hunt.

Known for its flagship product, the 5-star crash-tested G1™ Kennel, GUNNER is built on a commitment to overbuilt, design-first gear for dogs that work and the people who rely on them. The Waterfowl Vest is engineered for dogs that hunt hard and owners who expect their gear to perform. This vest solves the biggest issues hunters face with traditional dog vests – from frozen zippers and soaked neoprene to poor fit and limited protection.

“After numerous prototypes and seven years of product testing and development, we’re proud to have landed on a hunting vest design worthy of putting our name on it. The Waterfowl Vest improves the entire experience in the field for both hunters and their dogs,” said Addison Edmonds, founder of GUNNER. “We’ve put this vest to work in layout blinds, single digit degree mornings, and Arkansas flooded timber – even 50-mph winds in the North Dakota prairie potholes. It held up in all of it.”

Better Temperature Regulation
Engineered for thermal consistency. GUNNER’s 5-Layer Performance System, featuring a quick-dry Ariaprene® composite and breathable spacer mesh, creates a stable layer of warmth next to the coat that stabilizes warmth in water and balances recovery afterward.

Quick-Dry Technology
GUNNER’s 5-Layer Performance System is engineered with quick-dry materials to remove moisture faster. The result for you: even after freezing overnight conditions, the vest stays pliable, thaws quickly and won’t mildew easily. The result for your dog: manages their core temperature more effectively than traditional neoprene vests, reduces wind chill, and keeps them comfortable through high-output activity.

Easy, Adjustable Fit
Over-the-head fit, quick-attach G-hooks, and a six-point adjustment system that’s intuitive make it the least frustrating vest you’ll ever use – even when your hands are cold or wet. Ideal for dogs 55 to 100 pounds and breeds like: Labrador Retriever, Golden Retriever, Chesapeake Bay Retriever, German Wirehaired Pointer.

GUNNER Grade Durability
No zippers to break or velcro to mess with. An abrasion-resistant TPU shell and reinforced chest plate protect against stubble, sticks, and debris. Built GUNNER Grade to last season after season.

“The Waterfowl Vest retains heat, dries faster, and gets your dog back up to temperature faster once they’re out of water,” said Colton Breeding, senior industrial designer at GUNNER. “On top of performance, it’s designed to be intuitive to fit and comfortable for your dog.”

The Waterfowl Vest is built as a single, adjustable size engineered to fit most 55–100 lb retrievers. It is available in two colorways: a solid Marsh and a Mossy Oak Bottomland Camo in partnership with Ducks Unlimited. The Waterfowl Vest retails for $250. Available now at Gunner.com.
