Josiah Middaugh Joins GO Sleeves as Head of Performance Science

August 16, 2022

Mult-sport and mountain triathlete champion to improve products and their application.

San Jose, CA (Aug 16, 2022) – GO Sleeves, the company that introduced the world’s first and only kinesiology sleeve — a compression sleeve with built-in kinesiology strips, announced today that GO Sleeves athlete Josiah Middaugh will add his knowledge and experience to the improvement of GO Sleeves products and their application in the toughest competition conditions for the most demanding athletes in the world.

Middaugh’s Master’s Degree in Kinesiology, 20 years of experience working with athletes of all kinds, and his long list of multi-sport racing accomplishments make him a perfect fit for this new role. In particular, Middaugh’s career as a world champion XTERRA Triathlete has given him insight and expertise that will take GO Sleeves product development R&D, design strategy, testing, and validation, literally to new heights. Middaugh is especially excited to help other professional athletes, coaches, athletic trainers, and physical therapists by recommending training and recovery protocols to help athletes be at the top of their game.

“With my background in understanding the way people move, I really appreciate how GO Sleeves combines compression and kinesiology strips in an easy-to-use product,” said Middaugh. “It’s amazing to see endurance athletes that I coach being able to virtually eliminate pain while recovering from injury or perhaps a higher-intensity training session. You just put the sleeves on and off you go. When you’re done training, put them back on for more effective recovery results.”

Middaugh’s professional racing accomplishments:

2015 XTERRA World Champion

15-Time XTERRA USA National Champion

6-Time USSSA National Snowshoe Champion

4-Time Fat Bike World Champion

10-Time GoPro Mountain Games, Ultimate Mountain Challenge Champion

2-Time USAT Winter Triathlon National Champion

Middaugh’s son, Sullivan, is the first to follow in his footsteps by joining the Podium Project team at Arizona State University. Sullivan is currently being trained for the Team USA triathlon team as well as Olympics opportunities.

Middaugh’s personal favorite use of GO Sleeves is to mitigate calf muscle and Achilles tendon tightness — and to accelerate recovery. Unlike other compression products on the market, GO Sleeves products incorporate the same kinesiology taping technology used by doctors, chiropractors, and physical therapists to support key joints, ligaments, and tendons.

GO Sleeves use built-in silicone strips that trigger the body’s natural pain reduction capabilities while increasing recuperating blood flow and lymphatic drainage. Their 4-way stretch outer compression sleeves are super-lightweight, breathable, washable, and reusable. Athletes get all the benefits of a physical therapist’s tape session without the recurring cost of an office visit and/or tape applications.
