La Sportiva Opens Salt Lake City Retail Location
January 6, 2026

The new store is part of La Sportiva’s continued investment in brand-owned retail in North America
BOULDER, Colo. (January 6, 2025) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ — La Sportiva, maker of the world’s finest mountain gear, today announced the opening of its newest retail store in the United States. The new store is located at 368 West 600 South in Salt Lake City, Utah, and is slated to open in February. The 5,100-square-foot location will feature products from La Sportiva’s entire collection, from climbing and mountain running shoes to ski-touring gear and apparel.
Salt Lake City is a historic hub for mountain sports, with access to world-class skiing, climbing, and trail running. The new location is situated in a fast-growing, vibrant district near the USA Climbing Training Center, placing it at the center of the region’s outdoor culture.
“We are not simply opening another retail location; we are investing in a mountain community,” said Jonathan Lantz, president of La Sportiva North America. “Salt Lake City brings together access, culture, and a daily commitment to mountain sports, and that energy is exactly why we want to be here. Our goal is to build a place where mountain athletes and newcomers alike can come together, learn something, and head back outside better equipped for whatever they’re chasing.”
The new store is designed as a hub for the local mountain community to gather and connect through in-store events, hands-on workshops, and group outings. La Sportiva’s goal with the Salt Lake City location is to support a wide range of mountain athletes, from those just getting started to seasoned athletes with years of experience. The opening reflects the brand’s broader approach to retail, creating physical spaces that feel rooted in the places they serve while strengthening the company’s presence in key mountain towns worldwide. The Salt Lake City location is La Sportiva’s second retail store in North America, joining a growing network of brand-owned stores in iconic mountain destinations across Europe.
A key feature of the new location is the first North American ReSoul Lab, which will offer resoling services for La Sportiva climbing shoes, allowing customers to extend the life of their footwear while reducing waste.
La Sportiva’s roots in the Rocky Mountain region go back to 1990, when the brand established its North American operations in Colorado. The Rockies have since served as the company’s North American base, supporting its presence across the U.S. and Canada while remaining closely connected to the family-owned brand in Ziano di Fiemme, Italy.
“With the opening in Salt Lake City, we continue to strengthen La Sportiva’s presence in some of the most meaningful locations for mountain sports,” said Lorenzo Delladio, president and CEO of La Sportiva. “This is not just about expanding our retail network; it is about getting closer to the communities that share our values and building long-lasting relationships that go beyond the product itself. Being here allows us to listen directly to the people who live and shape this territory and to foster an authentic dialogue with a community that has long been a point of reference for us, while expanding the brand’s strategic presence in a key market.”
La Sportiva invites the Salt Lake City community to visit the new location this February. A grand opening celebration is planned for the spring, bringing together La Sportiva athletes, media, and members of the local outdoor community.
