Noble Biomaterials Shares Industry Collaboration that Reduces Water and Chemistry in Fabric Production at Functional Fabric Fair Portland

November 5, 2025

Scranton, Pennsylvania (November 5, 2025) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Noble Biomaterials, a global leader in antimicrobial and conductive material technologies, brings Ionic+® Prism to Functional Fabric Fair Portland. The first industry collaboration in performance dyed yarns, Prism delivers permanent color and permanent antimicrobial protection while removing 80% of the water and dyes required to produce fabrics. Noble will discuss Prism product breakthrough at Day 0 and display its finished goods at booth #773 during the fair.

The collaboration between Noble and e.dye® started at the Functional Fabric Fair in 2024 and is now a part of the November 2025 Innovation panel discussion on Day 0 – the industry educational seminars that precede the show. Ionic+® Prism is now fully commercialized within three different categories: Healthcare, Outdoor, and Sports Uniforms. Both Noble and e.dye® will display the finished garments at their individual booths as they strive to bring industry partners together and build new products with massive savings in natural resources.

Prism is a fabric developed by Noble and e.dye® that uses waterless dyeing — e.dye’s Clean Color System™ that incorporates Ionic+® Pro yarn technology to create fabrics that offer permanent antimicrobial protection, and permanent vibrant color. This exclusive fabric collaboration offers massive savings in environmental impact:

+ 99% removal of odor causing bacteria on the fabric over 100 washes

+ 90% less chemistry required in dyeing process

+ 80% less water required in manufacturing process

+ 100% recyclable for a fully circular fabric lifecycle

“We’ve focused our investments and efforts on creating products in the most sustainable way possible – because once textiles are broken down and recycled, they’ll need to be rebuilt. Our goal is to be the most sustainable option for that rebuilding process,” said Allon Cohne, Noble’s Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. “Our goal is to build the most durable and most responsible product while also achieving the highest standards in performance. We were able to do this in partnership with e.dye®.”

In addition to Ionic+® Prism, Noble will debut its full suite of new Ionic+® performance technologies including Ionic+® Botanical – award-winning plant-based antimicrobial fabric finish for all fabric constructions and its fully commercialized Ionic+® CoolPro – fabric technology design with permanent antimicrobial benefits with cooling performance with built-in.
