August 17, 2021

Rugged, Compact and High-Quality Optics Available Online and Coming to Stores in Spring of 2022

ALPINE MEADOWS, Calif. – August 17, 2021 – Nocs Provisions, maker of adventure-ready optics and accessories, today announces that its products will be available online at REI.com this Fall, and in-store in Spring 2022.

Founded in 2019, Nocs Provisions has grown quickly with its range of adventure-ready optics that are designed to be taken along for the ride, and the go-to choice for outdoor enthusiasts looking for durable, compact and high-quality binoculars and monoculars.

“We are beyond stoked to have Nocs products available at REI, and we’re honored to work with a partner that aligns with us on making the outdoors more approachable for the next generation,” said Chris McKleroy, founder and CEO, Nocs Provisions. “Nocs are designed from the ground up to be the outdoor optics that come on every trip, and bring people closer to the natural world.”

REI will stock Nocs Provisions’ Standard Issue 8×25 waterproof binoculars, the Zoom Tube 8×32 monocular, and a selection of accessories.

The Standard Issue 8×25 binocular is a fan favorite: super compact, high-quality, durable and water- and fogproof at an approachable price, making them the pair of binoculars that will always fit in the rucksack or pocket and are made to take along for any adventure. The Standard Issue offers 8x magnification, fully multi-coated optics and a Bak4 prism for edge-to-edge clarity, IP7X waterproof certification, with fogproof, nitrogen-filled chambers, and a high-impact grip that fits in the palm of the hand.

The Zoom Tube 8×32 Monocular is an ultralight exploration tool, small enough to pack for any excursion yet with optics that pack a serious punch. Rugged and water-resistant, the Zoom Tube offers 8x magnification / 32mm lens aperture, the equivalent of a 400mm zoom lens. Featuring Swiss-designed Bak4 prisms, each piece of glass on the Zoom Tube is coated multiple times to reduce chromatic aberration and provide more brightness. With a wide field of view (384ft @ 1000 yds / 7.3º) the Zoom Tube provides an extremely wide range while maintaining a close focus of 2M (7ft) for viewing nature’s smaller details.

Since inception, Nocs has partnered with Trips for Kids Marin, a non-profit that provides kids from underserved Bay Area communities with gear and an opportunity to mountain bike. Nocs supports the organization through 1% for the Planet and direct volunteering.

“I started Nocs Provisions to serve the next generation of humans with the goal of disconnecting from technology and exploring our surroundings,” added McKleroy. “The true goal for Nocs is about supporting a diverse community of people who are outdoor enthusiasts – whatever that means to them – more people who consider themselves citizen scientists and want to learn about and protect the environment.”

The Nocs Naturalist series showcases such inspiring individuals, and the Nocs team recently visited Point Reyes, Calif. for a unique birding excursion with Isaiah Scott, a young ornithologist and artist.
