onX Offroad Introduces Real-Time Location Sharing

MISSOULA, Mont. — April 28, 2026 /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – onX Offroad, the leading navigation app for off-road enthusiasts today announces the launch of Location Sharing, a new in-app feature that lets users see their entire group’s live locations on one map in real time. Built to reduce check-ins, eliminate guesswork, and improve safety, the feature gives riders instant visibility of their crew while they move through their route.

onX Offroad users can start a session, send a link, and see their group’s position update every five seconds. If someone loses connection, the App displays their last known location and timestamp, ensuring clarity even in low signal terrain. All location data is deleted as soon as the session ends.

Key Location Sharing features include:

• Up to 10 people per session
• Live updates every 5 seconds
• Online and offline indicators
• Full user control to join, leave, or end a session
• Automatic deletion of all location data when a session ends

For Offroad groups, the feature helps leaders track everyone and gives faster riders freedom to explore without losing contact.

This feature has begun to roll out to all users. Any onX Offroad membership level can start or join a session.

Location Sharing currently operates in areas with cellular coverage. To help plan ahead, users can reference onX Offroad’s Cell Coverage Layer to preview connectivity along their route before heading out.
