Raleigh Electric Partners With The Bahati Foundation to Auction Electric Bike to Support Inner-City Youth

October 19, 2017

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (Oct. 19, 2017) Raleigh Electric, maker of industry-leading electric bikes, is partnering with the Los Angeles-based Bahati Foundation to support underprivileged youth, and bring educational programs to kids living in the inner city areas of Los Angeles.

Raleigh Electric will be donating a 2017 Redux IE ebike to be auctioned off by the Bahati Foundation to support the great philanthropic and valuable work it does to motivate and empower the leaders of tomorrow.

“We are very pleased to be able to support the great work that the Bahati Foundation is doing,” said Larry Pizzi, Raleigh Electric’s president. “I admire how Rahsaan has been able to use the bicycle as a tool to bring social equity, and give back to his community.”

To purchase tickets, please visit the auction site which is now live: https://go.rallyup.com/bahatiebike.

The auction is open to all residents in the continental US, and the drawing will be held on December 22. There is no limit on entries, so the more tickets you purchase (starting at $20), the more chances you have to win … and the more you donate to this charitable cause. All proceeds support the Bahati Foundation’s efforts.

Giving back is the central tenet of the Bahati Foundation. Rahsaan Bahati, a former professional cyclist, was once the benefactor of other’s generosity and he now carries the torch in motivating youth in under-served communities – like the one he grew up in. Rahsaan, his father Rashid, and a group of volunteers believe deeply in social responsibility, and feel that giving back to their communities is quite simply the right thing to do.

The opportunity to work in the community that raised me is humbling and rewarding. Partnering with Raleigh Electric, who is an industry leader in the ebike business, is even more humbling,” said Rahsaan Bahati. “To know Raleigh Electric shares the same vision for helping those who are less fortunate is exactly the partner we were looking for.”

The lightweight, aluminum Redux IE electric bike has rugged urban geometry and wider tires to tame all elements, while offering more comfort and control. Equipped with a 250W Brose center-drive motor integrated into the down tube, 36V lithium-ion battery, and max pedal-assist power of 28 MPH, the Redux ranges from 35-80 miles on a single charge and is built to last and infuse fun into your daily routine. Retail value: $3,199.
