Sciessent’s LAVA XL™ Becomes First ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX® Certified Product in U.S.

ECO PASSPORT helps brands select OEKO-TEX®-compliant materials to protect health and human safety

Wakefield, Mass. – Sciessent today announced that Lava XL, a next generation odor control technology, has been awarded the ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX® certification. OEKO-TEX® sets standards and evaluates products for potentially harmful substances.

ECO PASSPORT helps brands achieve or maintain a high standard for health and human safety by assisting in the sourcing and use of OEKO-TEX®-compliant materials. Textiles and textile ingredients that are OEKO-TEX®-compliant are free from dangerous levels of potentially harmful substances such as allergens and carcinogens. Sciessent is the first U.S-based company to complete the ECO PASSPORT program.

With a core mission to create products that are environmentally focused, Sciessent is proud to add ECO PASSPORT to a growing list of environmental and human health certifications for all of their odor-fighting and PFC-free water resistant products.

To gain ECO PASSPORT certification, Sciessent’s Lava XL passed two rigorous assessments driven by OEKO-TEX®, including a chemical substance comparison against the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Restricted Substance List and an analytical laboratory verification to confirm the product does not contain unintended by-products or contaminants.

Sciessent’s Lava XL, a standalone odor adsorption product and key component of Agion Active XL, goes beyond just attracting and adsorbing odors; it actually degrades them. This keeps Lava XL from becoming saturated with odor molecules, allowing it to perform longer while products are in use.
