Sea to Summit Welcomes Sally McCoy to the Global Leadership Team

November 18, 2020

McCoy brings years of C-level industry experience to accelerate global growth at Sea to Summit.

Perth, Australia (November 17, 2020) — Sea to Summit, the adventure equipment manufacturer headquartered in Western Australia, is thrilled to welcome Sally McCoy, a seasoned outdoor industry executive, to the company’s global leadership team. McCoy will occupy the newly created position of Executive Chair of Sea to Summit and will assume responsibility for the brand’s global strategy and expansion.

McCoy joins Sea to Summit as a deeply experienced veteran of the global outdoor industry having served as CEO of CamelBak, President of Sierra Designs, and Vice President at The North Face during periods of dramatic growth, product innovation, and brand expansion. She has also served as Board Chair for the Outdoor Industry Association, Conversation Alliance, and Outdoor Foundation.

Over the past decade, Sea to Summit has experienced rapid growth driven by a wide diversity of product offerings, global wholesale distribution, and company expansions. Earlier this year, Sea to Summit acquired the brand’s long-time North American distributor in a series of global growth strategies. The brand is looking forward to 2021 and the launch of its most ambitious product category to date, technical backcountry tents.

“We had the privilege of working with Sally when Sea to Summit became the Australian distributor of CamelBak and quickly became good friends,” said Roland Tyson Founder, and Head of Design at Sea to Summit and Penny Sanderson, the company’s Co-Owner and Director. “We’re extremely fortunate to have her high-caliber industry experience and collaborative leadership style as we continue to experience major transformation as a global adventure brand.”

Based in the United States, McCoy will work closely with the North American Sea to Summit office, led by Josh Simpson, as well as provide strategic leadership for the company’s global wholesale distribution, manufacturing, marketing, and direct-to-consumer business.

Of joining Sea to Summit’s global leadership team, McCoy said, “I am thrilled to be joining Roland, Penny and the Sea to Summit team. I think they are the most authentic and innovative brand in the outdoor industry. I look forward to contributing to its potential.”
