Double Success For Oriol Cardona Coll: Gold In The Sprint And Bronze In The Mixed Relay

Bormio / Kiefersfelden (February 24, 2026) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Sensational success for DYNAFIT athlete Oriol Cardona Coll: At the Skimo premiere in Bormio, the Spaniard confidently took home the gold medal in the sprint. Two days later, he teamed up with his partner Ana Alonso Rodríguez to snag the bronze medal in the mixed relay.

In the sprint competition on Thursday, February 19, Cardona Coll made a strong statement right from the heats, showing his attacking strength and speed throughout all the rounds. Right from the first heat, he dictated the pace and kept his ground in the knockoutrounds. In the final, he controlled the race with precise maneuvers, high speed, and great explosiveness. With a time of 2:34.03 minutes and just under two seconds lead, he confidently secured historic gold.

In the mixed relay on Saturday, February 21, it was a close fight for third place. Until the last handover and the final meters, the field stayed close together. Oriol Cardona Coll and Ana Alonso kept their cool in the crucial phase and secured the bronze medal after an intense battle.

After his double success, Cardona Coll was overjoyed: “It was an extraordinary week for me. The gold medal in the sprint means a lot to me – not just personally, but also for all of Spain. The bronze medal in the mixed relay together with Ana Alonso was the crowning achievement. I have worked intensively towards this goal for many years. Without the support of my surroundings and my partners, this wouldn’t have been possible. Competing in Bormio in front of so many spectators was impressive. I will always remember this atmosphere.”

“We are proud to have accompanied Oriol on his sporting journey since 2013, and we are happy that we could support him on-site in Bormio as well. His development over the past years is impressive. He has worked hard, kept his goal in sight, and delivered even under maximum pressure – that rightly makes him the number 1 in the sprint,” said Alexander Nehls, Marketing Director DYNAFIT.
