Sun Valley Resort Kicks Off The 2022-2023 Season With A Bang

Sun Valley, ID. /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Sun Valley Resort, #1 ski resort in the West from SKI Magazine’s revered Annual Ski Resort Awards for three years in a row and oldest independently owned destination ski resort, today announced the kick off to its 2022-2023 season. Tickets and season passes are now on sale and the Resort is proud to announce a slew of exciting events and experiences for guests and community to enjoy. The official opening day for the 2022-23 season is on Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 24, 2022 and signifies the beginning of the Resort’s 87th season.

November is packed with fun for the whole family including ski film showings, events and parties:

  • On November 3rd, the Sun Valley Opera House will kick off the season with a screening of the Brap Ski 2 ski film featuring Crazy Karl’s latest project and including local skiers like WingTai Barrymore, McKenna Peterson, and Ridge Dirksmeirer. Immediately to follow, Matchstick Productions ski film “Anywhere From Here” will show and keep the stoke level high.
  • On November 12th, the annual Pray for Snow party at River Run Lodge Plaza will show thanks to the local community and employees of Sun Valley Company for creating a destination and guest experience that helped secure Sun Valley Resort’s position as the Top Ski Resort. The event also celebrates the coming season and vintage costumes and dancing are highly encouraged. Bring healthy dried and canned goods and gently used coats to donate to the Hunger Coalition and receive raffle tickets for some awesome Sun Valley prizes in return for your generosity.
  • To round out the pre-season energy, a number of Sun Valley athletes including the Resort’s own Karl Fostvedt, are featured in four showings of the new Warren Miller film “Daymaker”, showing at the Sun Valley Opera House on November 17-19th.   • For dining and foodie enthusiasts, winter reservations for popular Sun Valley Resort restaurants such as the Roundhouse and the Ram are open now or let Sun Valley do the cooking this holiday season and place your to-go order for a Thanksgiving dinner! Lift Tickets On Sale

Lift tickets and season passes are officially available for purchase online. Following tradition, the mountain will open on Thanksgiving, November, 24th. This year, Sun Valley Resort is offering 1-day, 2-day, 3-day or 4-day lift tickets for Bald Mountain and 1-day or 2-day lift tickets for Dollar Mountain. The tickets do not have to be used consecutively and can be used 4 out of 6 days, 3 out of 5 days, and 2 out of 3 days. Sun Valley is also proud to announce its first year of partnership with the Ikon Pass, and will be welcoming guests on the Ikon Base Pass Plus (5 days) & Ikon Pass (7 days) as well as rejoining the Mountain Collective Pass which offers 2 days at the resort.

Snowsports Lessons On Sale

Snowsports Lessons are open for registration for the 2022-23 season, with a wide array of options suitable for all individuals. Lesson offerings remain the same this year, featuring the popular Classic Private Lesson as well as group and family lessons. Each individual or group lesson offers a unique experience on the mountain that can be tailored to fit skill levels and needs of all kinds. Professionally trained instructors provide tips to enhance your skills on the snow and provide a unique local experience. Lesson groups also enjoy benefits such as priority lift access ensuring maximized time on snow and out of lines.
