Alayna Sonnesyn: “The Birkie has been a part of my life since before I could walk. I’ve participated in every Birkie event, whether I was waddling up Main St. on skin skis as a kid, fighting for a podium in the Junior Birkie or racing against some of the best in the world through the woods of Northern Wisconsin, I have loved and embraced every aspect of the Birkie experience. Doesn’t matter if I’m skiing for hot chocolate and cookies, beer and brats, or a victory, racing up Main St. in front of thousands of people is unique to Birkie weekend. That feeling of camaraderie, accomplishment, and passion for the sport that everyone shares at the finish line is something I look forward to every year. I’m grateful to have successfully fueled with Tailwind during all four of my victories in the Birkie and look forward to more!”

Jessica Yeaton: “I am really looking forward to the Birkie: It’s my favorite Nordic race, and there is a ton of added excitement with it being the 50th anniversary this year. I absolutely love the sense of community–from friends and old teammates to the massive crowd of people cheering on Main Street–it really is a race that brings people together.”

David Norris: “I look forward to racing the Birkie each year because it is one of the funnest 50km race courses I have ever competed on worldwide. Birkie week has the best fans, the ski community here is amazing, and I link up with a bunch of friends that I only see during this single week each year. I’ve got a lot of great reasons I love returning to the Birkie and so far very few reasons not to Come!”
