The leadership learning house acquires program for the industry’s entry level future leaders

(April 4, 2022, Denver, Colorado)/OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ –The outdoor industry’s newest leadership learning house, The Futurist Project, has acquired Leadership Lab. Founded in 2021, Leadership Lab is a  virtual three month program for individuals just breaking into their careers  in the outdoor industry as well as those who currently hold entry level positions.

Leadership Lab was founded and will still be run by Greer Van Dyck, an IPEC Certified Professional Coach with  an M.A. in Counseling Psychology. She is the founder of Windrose, a boutique firm offering professional coaching and training to empower leadership teams to establish what a healthy organization looks and feels like.

“Leadership and professional development are most effective when individuals are given the chance to build self confidence, grow a meaningful network of relationships, and integrate effective and actionable skills,” said Greer Van Dyck. “Bringing The Leadership Lab under The Futurist Project allows for a diverse array of leadership development education and experiences to be offered in one place.  I’m excited about participating in the facilitation of new and innovative approaches to personal and professional growth. I couldn’t be more thrilled to have The Leadership Lab part of this inspiring initiative.”

Registration is now open for the next class of The Leadership Lab. Participants will attend bi-weekly Zoom workshops throughout the three-month program. The curriculum is  a combination of topical teaching, peer learning, breakout groups, and self reflection. Topics covered in The Leadership Lab include: Building confidence, managing imposter syndrome, empowering and influencing others, managing up, navigating change, strategic thinking, and mastering feedback.

The cost to participants is $1,200 and The Futurist Project has partnered with OIA to offer a discount to members interested in participating. Unlike The Futurist Project Leadership Institute, Leadership Lab is open to anyone who wishes to participate and registration is open on a first come, first serve basis through May 13th, 2022.

“We are thrilled to offer this learning opportunity to the outdoor industry. Cross-job and company learning is beneficial to every individual as well as the industry as a whole,” said The Futurist Project co-founder Stasia Raines Walker. “We believe investing in both entry level and emerging leaders will empower individuals to be positive forces of good in the workplace and ultimately create a community poised and prepared to lead our brands into the future with innovation, compassion and authority.”

The Futurist Project now hosts two leadership programs, Leadership Lab for entry level employees or those  breaking into the outdoor industry as well as The Leadership Institute for those with middle management experience. Leadership Lab is a three month program with open enrollment and no travel requirement while Leadership Institute is a six month program with an application process and multiple in-person gatherings.
