Tread Labs Doubles Down on B2B Efforts

June 3, 2021

WOBURN, Mass. – After experiencing significant growth in its direct-to-consumer business, Tread Labs is expanding its wholesale business to brick and mortar stores, as well as online retailers, through a partnership with the UBER Group and the hire of a Channel Manager for the wholesale side of the business.

“Given their track record, bringing on UBER Group was a no-brainer,” says Tread Labs founder Mark Paigen. “Hiring a Wholesale Channel Manager to provide sales and marketing support for Uber Group and our dealers will help grow Tread Labs insole business with key specialty retailers.”

Michael Lumpkin and Steve Carvalho of UBER Group cut their teeth working retail at High Country Outfitters in Atlanta. In the decades since, they spent years building a successful rep organization, then managed sales for several large brands. They have seen the changes in specialty retail and feel strongly that challenging times call for new solutions. “We are excited to employ a new model of sales management that empowers the rep organization to make key decisions necessary to build a brand,” says Carvalho. “Between the trust Tread Labs has given us and the generous sales programs for retailers, our job just got a lot easier.”

UBER Group has achieved early success by landing Tread Labs in several specialty retailers including, The Backpacker Shop, J&H Landmark, Great Miami Outfitters, Go Hunt, Hike Shack, Ross Outdoors and Nabors Shoe Store.
