UnTapped Maple announces role as official nutrition and hydration partner of Big Sugar NWA

October 4, 2021

RICHMOND, VT—UnTapped Maple announces that it will be the official nutrition and hydration partner of the Bentonville, AK-based Big Sugar NWA Gravel Race. The race, kicking off on Saturday, October 23, is billed as an event that sports 100 miles of challenging terrain that showcases the beauty of Northwest Arkansas and Southeast Missouri in the fall.

“UnTapped is dedicated to improving athlete’s performance with the cleanest, simplest ingredient list available. That message has resonated within the markets in which we’ve set up shop as customers can try and notice the difference firsthand. Going to a national level event like Big Sugar that’s bolstered by the Life Time brand will only echo our message that much further,” notes former Tour De France competitor and UnTapped co-founder Ted King.

Big Sugar is a new event for Life Time that allows participants to not just participate in a race but also connect with Bentonville, a community at the heart of biking culture and one of the locations for Outerbike 2021 between October 22 – 24.

A majority of the race’s single-loop course will happen on gravel roads with a sprinkling of pavement for connectors and as with other Life Time events, proceedings happen rain or shine. For participants who are unsure of the 100-mile distance, a “Little Sugar” 50-miler is offered as an alternative and designed as an entrée to the challenges of the Big Sugar ride.

Racers will have access to UnTapped Maple products at aid stations for proper refueling throughout the day. Untapped now offers a complete sports nutrition lineup with a traditional Vermont flavor in an assortment of waffles and Mapleaid drink mix options—each boasting maple syrup’s natural trace electrolytes and minerals as well as being organic and low glycemic—a perfect way to fuel a 100-mile race.
