Janji Announces the First 2026 Janji Grants Recipients

March 31, 2026

Tierra Libre Run, Runners for Public Lands and Native Women Run Awarded

BOSTON (March 31, 2025) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/Janji, the Boston-based performance running brand rooted in exploration and global connection, today announced the launch of Janji Grants, a new giveback initiative designed to support grassroots organizations working to make running more inclusive, accessible and community-driven.

Since its founding in 2013, Janji has explored ways to use running as a force for good. Janji Grants represents the next evolution of that mission, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to inspiring wonder through movement, for all.

Through the program, Janji will award a $10,000 grant each month to organizations that are building community, reducing barriers to participation or providing education and mentorship to welcome new runners into the sport.

“Running has the power to connect people, expand perspectives and create meaningful change,” said Mike Burnstein, co-founder and CEO of Janji. “With Janji Grants, we’re investing in the individuals and organizations who are doing the work on the ground to make the sport more inclusive and accessible. This is a natural extension of our mission and the community we’ve been building since day one.”

The inaugural cohort of 2026 grant recipients reflects Janji’s three core pillars: education, community and access. Among the first recipients:

  • Tierra Libre Run, an organization advancing BIPOC representation in trail and ultra-distance running through athlete funding, mentorship and community-based programming.
  • Runners for Public Lands, which mobilizes runners to protect public lands while expanding equitable access to outdoor spaces through stewardship, advocacy and education initiatives.
  • Native Women Run, a community-centered organization uplifting Indigenous women through running, creating space for healing, visibility and cultural connection while increasing access to the sport.

These organizations exemplify the type of grassroots leadership Janji Grants aims to elevate, those creating tangible pathways for more people to participate in running, regardless of background or experience level.

Janji Grants builds on the brand’s long-standing commitment to social impact, evolving its approach from product-driven giveback to direct investment in community-led change. By supporting organizations at the local level, Janji aims to help foster a more inclusive and representative future for the sport.

Applications for future grants will remain ongoing, with new recipients selected monthly and announced quarterly throughout the year. For more information on Janji Grants, visit janji.com.
